While it was once unheard of to send out or receive birth announcements through electronic means, such practices have become popular enough to become something of the norm nowadays. In fact it wouldn’t be surprising if most birth announcements would be transmitted electronically in the future.
That being said, there really isn’t a risk of traditional birth announcements disappearing anytime soon. There remains a huge market comprised of people that still like writing down sentiments and important social messages on special pieces of paper, and birth announcements written down on paper is still the only thing that will suffice.
